Ellen Hamminga

Hamminga, Ellen Sofie … passed away peacefully with her family by her side on August 20, 2010 at the Cambridge Memorial Hospital in her 85th year. Beloved wife of the late Luurt Hamminga. Loving mother of Sonja Elkerton (Mike Lethbridge) and the late Lambert Hamminga. Cherished grandmother of Michael Elkerton, Ingrid Dwyer (Sean), Nelson Pinheiro, Mike Lethbridge Jr., James Lethbridge (Carrie) and great grandmother of Theresa, Abigail and Gabrielle Dwyer and Olivia and Owen Lethbridge. Ellen will also be missed by her sister Edel Lynghaug (Ivar) of Norway and by many cousins, nieces and nephews in both Norway and Canada, as well as her very special friends Harumi & Rick Matchett. Resting at Corbett Funeral Home, 95 Dundas Street, Cambridge where the family will receive friends on Tuesday August 24, 2010 from 7-9 pm. Funeral Service will be held in the funeral home chapel on Wednesday August 25 at 1 pm. Rev. Aubrey Botha officiating. Cremation to follow. As expressions of sympathy donations made to the Alzheimer Society would be appreciated by the family. The family would like to offer a special thanks to Dr. Michael Butters and the ICU and 3rd Floor Staff of the Cambridge Memorial Hospital for the great care shown to Ellen.
