            1933 - 2021
    It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Gordon Ivany at Cambridge Memorial Hospital on Friday March 19, 2021
 in his 88th year. Born on Bell Island, Newfoundland on November 19,1933.  A resident of Cambridge since 1965. 
Gordon was an avid bowler at Dickson Bowl until their closing, earning himself many trophies, plaques and badges over the years. He had a passion for woodworking and boats, especially the Titanic and was very proud of his 4 foot replica he built himself from scratch, he loved walking, country music, old western movies, WWE Wrestling and sweets.
Gordon was a kind a gentle man who loved his family and his fur babies so very much. 
He will be sadly missed by his sister Marion Bickford of Clark's Beach, Newfoundland, his brothers Silas (June) and 
Walter (Patricia) of Cambridge and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. 
Predeceased by his beloved wife Phyllis (Griffin) his parents Walter Ivany and Clara (Harris), his sisters Lillian, Mildred, Margaret, Bertha and his brothers Clyde, Stephen, William and George.
A special thanks to the kind and caring psw's from LHIN and Paramed and the nurses and doctors at CMH who helped with his care in his final months. 
At Gordon's request cremation has taken place. Due to current conditions and restrictions there will be no visitation. A small memorial service for family and close friends with internment to follow in the family plot will be held at Mount View Cemetery  on May 27th, 2021.
As an expression of sympathy donations can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, The Canadian Institute for the Blind or Online Condolences at would be appreciated by the family.
