Born in Flores, Azores on November 7, 1933, Ilda came to Canada with her son in 1960 to join her husband and create a new life for her family. The birth of her daughter Elisa in Canada, completed their Canadian dream. It wasn’t always easy but with perseverance they they enjoyed a better life.
She loved taking care of her family and enjoyed any and all family gatherings. Visitors to her home were always greeted warmly and with offers of food, no one left her house hungry.
Her garden was a joy for her, especially her vegetable patch and hydrangeas.
Many thanks to the staff at Hilltop Manor and the brave nurses and doctors at both Cambridge Memorial Hospital and Grand River Hospital for their excellent care. In lieu of flowers a donation to the Heart and Stroke foundation would be appreciated.
Due to COVID protocols, a private service will be held at Parklawn Cemetery on Tuesday April 13, 2021
