Jose Pacheco Mendonca
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Jose Pacheco Mendonca on April 13th 2021. Jose will be sadly missed by his loving wife Ilda and children Luisa, Joe (Vickie), Roberto (Laura-Lee), Helena(Mike), and youngest daughter Sandra (Scooter). He will be fondly remembered by his many grandchildren and great-grandchildren Wayne, Melissa, Joey, Daniel, Bradly, Nicole, Adrian, Gracie, Jack, Briston, Easton, Adeline and baby boy Amelio on the way. Jose's eyes would light up when he saw any of the grandchildren, they were his pride and joy. He had many fur-baby grandchildren as well that he was very fond of. His fur-baby Buddy is sure to have greeted him in heaven as Buddy was always by his side when he was alive.
Jose Mendonca grew up in St. Michaels Azores as one of 5 children. His father died very young and Jose as a young boy helped his mother support many of his siblings to continue their education and studies. He is predeceased by his parents Manuel Mendonca and Maria Jesus Pacheco and his sibling Manuel Pacheco Mendonca (Ilda) His other siblings include Maria Jose Tavares (Jose-deceased),Maria Jesus Furtado (Antonia)Edlino Pacheco Mendonca (Fatima)He has many nieces and nephews that he was very fond of.
Jose came to Canada in 1972 to make a better life for his family. He saved for 2 years to send for his four children and his wife. Over the years he sponsored family members along with their children so they could have a better life in Canada as well. His youngest daughter Sandra was born in Canada. He was fond of gardens and he would use every bit of space so he could to grow fruit trees, flowers and vegetable gardens. He was also fond of birds and had various species of birds he raised and farmed. His dream was to own his own farm and Jose and Ilda followed that dream and they both have created a beautiful piece of paradise for not only them but for all their family.
Jose was a neighbour that everyone knew that they could count on if they had tiling or plumbing issues. He was always there to lend a helping hand. He always would give of his time if he was able to. He is going to missed by all that loved him
Due to Covid restrictions a private family funeral and burial is being done. Jose's final resting place will be at Park Lawn Cemetery where his best friend is laid to rest. For expressions of sympathy a donation to the Canadian Cancer Society or Humane Society in his name would be appreciated
