Lyall "Douglas" Pugsley

April 25, 1941 - April 25, 2021

Doug passed away peacefully at Cambridge Memorial Hospital on his 80th birthday with family by his side.  He is predeceased by his parents Grace and Robert, sister Shirley (Austen), brother Leon, loving wife Elda, and son Robert.  He is lovingly missed by his daughter Susan (Frank), daughter-in-law Pat (Robert), five grandchildren Samantha (Eric), Elizabeth (Paul), Shelby (Matt and great-grandson Matheson), Rebecca and Mathew (Kennede).  He is also missed by his sister-in-law Kay (Leon), nieces, nephews, cousins and friends at his morning coffee group and afternoon coffee & crossword puzzle group at the local mall.  Doug was born in Parrsboro, Nova Scotia and grew up in Springhill, Nova Scotia.  He served in the Royal Canadian Air Force from February 1959 to October 1960 with the rank of Leading Aircraftman in the position of Operator Mobile Mechanic Equipment. Afterwards, he moved to Ontario where he met his loving wife, Elda, raised two children (Susan and Robert) and had a 30 year career with the Canadian National Railway as a Brakeman.  Doug was known for his great sense of humour.  Right to the end he was entertaining his PSW care workers and CMH hospital staff with his sometimes lame jokes. A special thank you is extended by the family to the people who provided loving care for Doug.  Cremation has taken place.  Due to COVID-19, a private graveside ceremony will be held at a future date.  Arrangements entrusted to Corbett Funeral Home, Cambridge, Ontario (519)-740-0669.
