Mary I Jordan
Our precious mother, grandmother and Mamie was called to her heavenly home on April 30, 2021 to be reunited with Tony, the love of her life for 64 years.
Loving mother to Anna Thompson, Marie Adam (Gary), Tony Jr (Maureen), Rob, Gloria Jordan, grandmother to 12 and great grandmother to 11 of which she called her Precious Jewels.
Mom was born, raised and completed her nursing training in Northumberland, England. Together she, Tony and their young family left behind her homeland and ventured to Canada in 1962 to offer their children a land of opportunity. We are forever grateful for this.
Mom’s quiet strength and guiding light shone on many as she devoted her life to loving and supporting her family and so many others through her nursing and her many hours of volunteering with children, seniors, overseas charities, young adult outreach with the COR program and with St Clement Church, especially with the Children of Light Baptismal Program which she initiated and ran for over 20 years.
It is difficult to sum up a lifetime of memories, but the summer vacations in Port Elgin and the numerous home cooked meals to celebrate special occasions and milestones will never be forgotten. Mom taught us the simplest of pleasures can bring you great joy and faith can bring you peace.
Our lives have been forever blessed by the love of this wonderful woman.
A special thank you to mom’s friends and staff at Fairview Mennonite Home, especially Jeni where mom felt valued and loved in her final years.
In keeping with moms wishes, donations in lieu of flowers can be made to St Clement Church building fund (www.stclementsparish.ca/on-line-donations.html) or the Comboni Missionairies (www.combonimissionaries.org ). Mass cards may be requested from St Clements Church
A private Memorial Service is being held at St Clements Church, Cambridge on Wednesday, May 5th at 10 am with Interment at a future date.
"I am home in Heaven dear ones
Oh so happy and so bright
There is perfect joy and beauty
In this everlasting light"
